Curriculum Vitae

Mienke Droop is a researcher at the National centre for language education (Expertisecentrum Nederlands) in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. She studied applied linguistics at the University of Utrecht. She got her PhD in 1999 at the Radboud University of Nijmegen with a study on the development of reading comprehension in second language learners. Since 1998 she has been working at the National centre for language education both on research projects and school development projects. From 2006-2010 she also had a part time function at the teacher training Institute of the Utrecht University of Applied Science where she was a member of the research group teaching in multicultural schools. She currently is also a board member of the Dutch Association for Applied Linguistics, Anela.
