Dorothee Gaile

Is teacher trainer and teacher for modern languages with a wide teaching practice in schools and University of Applied Sciences, introduced European educators to the Californian "Reading Apprenticeship Program" developed by Ruth Schoenbach and Cynthia Greenleaf , put the programme to practice in her own classrooms and adapted it for German teacher training. Publishes on literacy intervention programs, with focus on reading strategies. Is head of the project team of "Lese- and Sprachförderung" at the Office of Teacher Training in Ffm.

 

Ralf Schummer-Hofmann

Is a teacher for children with special needs, also involved in a project run by the Wiesbaden School Authority "Model Region - support for teachers and schools in the development of educational diagnosis and assessment for learning". He is a member of the team in charge of the project " Lese- und Sprachförderung" at the Office for Teacher Training ( Amt für Lehrerbildung ) in Frankfurt/ Main. His main tasks: diagnosis and intervention in the field of literacy, development of modules for teacher training, planning and holding conferences in teacher training.
