Do computer games strengthen our intelligence?

Patricia Greenfield from the University of California, Los Angeles, found an increase of our IQ, especially in non-verbal assignments which are related to a figurative intelligence. 


A recent study of Patricia Greenfield seems to confirm elder observations: The global increase of the IQ within the past 60 years seems to be related to a higher figurative intelligence, which might result from the use of new media. Concerning verbal intelligence, no increase of the IQ was found. Although the vocabulary of modern Americans is increasing, people seem to have more problems in understanding abstract terms and arguments.,1518,684217,00.html
