The National Centre for Language Education was appointed in 1996 by the Dutch Ministry of Education as the only national centre for language education. Until 2009 is has been part of Radboud University and is now allied to the university on a private basis. In order to stimulate the training of in-service teachers, collaborative research is implemented into real classroom practices with the full participation of teachers, educators and counsellors.
